Welcome to Realm: Summer 2026

From Brendon Cull, CEO and President of Cincinnati Regional Chamber

by Brendon Cull

My mom is an enormous fan of The Wizard of Oz, so Dorothy’s simple but powerful words, “There’s no place like home,” were heard often in our house growing up. That phrase became a maxim for many, and in some ways the phrase is a guiding inspiration behind the work of The Port of Greater Cincinnati Development Authority.

In the pages of this issue of Realm, you can read about the efforts of Laura Brunner and her team at The Port to help connect Cincinnatians to their dream homes. This magazine has frequently covered issues related to housing, and we’ll continue to do so. Our region’s intense focus on growing population by building more housing and making housing more affordable will continue to be front and center.

The Purple People Bridge isn’t quite the yellow brick road, but it certainly leads to a great city, Newport. I love the story about how our purple pedestrian bridge, though less frequently in the news compared to the Brent Spence Bridge (also covered in Realm this month), will help connect communities and encourage growth and vibrancy in our urban core.

You can also read about the brilliant team of owners and entrepreneurs at 4EG, about some key Cincinnati leaders making news, about Cincinnati State’s economic impact, about recent law firm mergers, and about how a Bengals player is investing his own money in affordable housing.

This issue of Realm is certain to give you a sense of possibility and promise for great things to come. Have a great summer!
