HOW DO YOU PLAN TO REINFORCE HUNTINGTON BANK’S REGIONAL MISSION? There’s a thoughtful approach to how regional banking functions and how we interact with customers. We have tailored solutions with each individual customer, and we’re focused on providing a local focus to everything we do. Our regional banking model is a winning strategy, and that’s what attracted me to Huntington. We’ve been growing through delivering stability.
HOW WILL YOUR PREVIOUS BANKING EXPERIENCE INFORM YOUR PERSPECTIVE? In my 30 years working in the Cincinnati market, I’ve had a great opportunity to be face to face with a lot of great customers, colleagues, and community partners. There’s a tremendous desire to invest and serve locally in this region. People here can see through phony, and they want to do business with folks who care about them. I’ve seen my fair share of businesses have success and failure in this community, and it helps when you know what works—it gives you some credibility. We are seeking growth through the lens of tailoring solutions around the customers’ needs, not around the bank’s needs.
WILL HUNTINGTON CONTINUE TO SUPPORT AFFORDABLE HOUSING INITIATIVES? One of the pillars of Huntington’s core mission is to strengthen the communities we serve. We will continue to invest in affordable housing. When you build a better community, you build a better bank.
