Ask Me About | Terri Hanlon-Bremer

President and CEO, TriHealth

by Elizabeth Wood

ASK ME ABOUT My new role as the first female President and CEO of TriHealth.

HOW HAS YOUR EXPERIENCE PREPARED YOU FOR THIS POSITION? I began my career as a nurse, where I learned that every patient has a story, every interaction matters, and great care requires not only clinical excellence but also compassion, courage, and respect for human dignity. That foundation shaped every step that followed, from community health and ambulatory care to operations, practice management, and leadership roles. Exceptional healthcare depends on bringing together the clinical and business sides of our work.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO YOU TO BE TRIHEALTH’S FIRST FEMALE CEO? I am deeply honored, but this has never been about one person or one title. It belongs to the extraordinary women who make up the heart of TriHealth—roughly 84 percent of our team—and who bring compassion, skill, and dedication to our patients, families, and community every day. It also reflects the remarkable legacies of the Sisters of Charity and the German Methodist Deaconesses. These courageous women were trailblazers.

WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR ADVANCING THE TRIHEALTH MISSION? For more than a decade, TriHealth has been advancing our Population Health model of care, and that commitment remains stronger than ever. This approach supports the health and well-being of more than 600,000 people across the Cincinnati region by caring for the whole person, not just treating illness. It’s a smarter, more sustainable way to deliver care. More importantly, it helps more people access the care they need—when and where they need it most.
